Happy Endings & New Beginnings

Welcome to our community blog. It’s customary for me to share reflections and celebrations at the start of a new year. This new year is also a new season for myself and many women who have taken on new opportunities and the pursuit of their dreams in 2023. I thought it would be great to share from that perspective. I hope you enjoy this edition and that you’ll come back for more…

What I’ve Left Behind

Out with the old they say… and yes there has been some of that for me. In 2022 I experienced heights of self-doubt I didn’t know were buried in my subconscious and I didn’t enjoy the suffering that came along with it. There were times where I felt paralyzed by the negative nellies in my mind and I’m not interested in that kind of paralysis in this new year. So although the self-doubt may come, I’m leaving behind the analysis paralysis that often follows and choosing to take more leaps of faith towards my dreams. 

In 2022, I also left behind a role I’ve held for the past 9 years with a company that will always have a place in my heart. The one thing I made sure not to do was burn the bridges I built during my C-Suite tenure because of the valuable relationships that arose from it. I am forever grateful for the growth and professional development my previous job afforded me and how graciously my goodbye has been received. Here’s a picture of a few of my colleagues from my farewell celebration… Onward and upward!

What I’ve Learned

The lessons from the past year are too numerous to list in one email. As you can imagine, I’m learning to pay more attention to the ones that come from mistakes as those continue to serve me the best. What stands out most in my mind is learning to trust myself. This is an ongoing lesson if I’m to be honest. Every new, challenging situation that we encounter has an opportunity buried within for you to listen to that inner you and trust your intuitive self to make the right decisions. I believe that trusting myself has allowed me to step out of my comfort zone and play full out in this new arena called “Running a business”. Prior to that it was trusting myself in the new arena of “Leaning into vulnerable love” with my now significant other and yet still before that it was the new arena of “Being an unknown author”…. And the list goes on. 

It’s from this lesson in self trust that I was able to carefully select the products and services that I would continue to offer to this community. And it has already paid off in big and small wins, like this one. At the beginning of the year I usually host a virtual LIVE on January 2nd, my self proclaimed “Intention Day”. As the new year approached, I wasn’t sure if I was going to do it because of all the noise that is now in the social media space. I decided I would wait for a clear sign from the universe that this was valuable content and then put forward the energy to deliver. 

On December 30th while on my annual dream life planning retreat at this lovely cottage in the blue mountains, one of my Instagram followers DM’d me to asked if I was still hosting my annual session because she has joined for the past 3 years and was looking forward to it but hadn’t seen any promos. I immediately responded YES! The session has had over 690 views across the 3 platforms it was streamed and the success planner has had multiple downloads. I also received an online endorsement for the podcast version of the event. So let’s just say… I’m leaning into that intuition a lot more this year.

What I’m Looking Forward To

Oooohhh there’s so much I’m excited about in the year ahead but most of all I’m looking forward to sharing all the happenings with you. I’m welcoming members of the community to this new space where I’ll share value added content with you. I’m also taking my podcast, the Balanced Lady Boss show to another level and would love for you to join my listening community if you haven’t already done so. 

As for my company Epic Transformation… we’re officially in the business of transformation. Business, leadership and women. I’m settling in with the new clients that I have and things are moving at a pace I have to catch up with.
